  • Is AAC blocks using in place of clay bricks for house construction is good?

  • Hi, Thanks for connecting us here.

We have been using Redbricks for the complete structure works in our projects. AAC Blocks is lightweight and compare to the red bricks AAC bricks are three times lighter. But it has some disadvantages which restrict ourself to do construction with Redbricks.

    1) The production cost per unit for AAC Block is higher.

    2) Plaster sometimes does not stick properly because of its smooth surface.

    3) Needs care during production itself, so that surface is not very smooth.

    4) Efflorescence occurs through mortar and water.

And more over redbricks are much durable and hard that they can withstand severe wind and extreme weather conditions. The raw material and workmanship are easily available and the cost of maintenance is also low for red bricks.
