Urban Wonderland
Colourful and cohesive, inventive and inviting – this cleverly planned 2973 sqft home in Kollam has all the right elements. Taking the less conventional approach to design is a sure way to give a house a strong identity and sense of place. The plot is on an exposed corner lot. Consequently, the house was done without the unfriendly look of a fence. It is in fact ,an extension of the sculptural , geometric form of the architecture.
The Plan
It has been one of the most popular project among our works. I assume the increased interest is because of the confusion that how it is possible to have 5 spacious bedroom, home theatre, three living space, work area and kitchen in the 2973 sqft.
Psychology of Architecture
Technically the rooms are not very big as you can find in the plan above. They just appear to be because of the colour choices and minimalistic design elements .In this context let us take a sneak peak into the psychology of architecture. It is, in short a study of how architecture has major effect on our daily lives. How it affects our moods, productivity , happiness , self esteem and mobility.
To put it simply ,it is an interesting subject which goes deep into exploring the greatest wonder of the universe ,”your mind” and its relation with the surroundings.
Beautiful images soothe a ruffled soul. A bouquet of roses or a simply solitary daffodil will have a highly salutary effect on your senses and relax you no end. So does a cleverly planned , beautifully co-ordinated living space develop joyful thoughts ,nourish relationship and help you perform feats that might astonish you.
